Greek Conversation Sessions at the Phoenix

This Is not a 'course' but a simple, informal evening where a bunch of people can get together and practice their spoken Greek. If you can speak some basic Greek - but have found it hard to progress due to lack of practice opportunities this should be for you. A moderator is available to support the conversation, and of course explain the language where necessary. We concentrate on everyday sentences and phrases in modern Greek. Those who cannot communicate confidently challenge themselves and with help soon improve. Feel free to suggest topics which particularly interest you.
Meetings are on the third and fourth Thursdays of the month.
18:00-20:00 (6pm-8pm). Doors open at 17:30.

Saturday 24th October - CANCELLED

With such a plethora of excellent bands and activities this month we have run out of audience ... so, with apologies to those people who have booked, the decision has been taken to cancel next Saturday's show with Paul Hope.
For those looking forward to seeing him, don't panic ;-) he will be appearing next year - which isn't so long to wait, and it will also give the hard working volunteers - especially those in the kitchen - a chance to regroup and recover from their current exhaustion!

Don't forget you can still enjoy a night out at the Club's Friday Film night this week - showing the romantic comedy Mickey Blue Eyes - or wait till the week after for a Ghoulish Halloween experience at Curry-Oke.

Halloween Karaoke with Maz

A Halloween Karaoke (AKA 'Curry-oke') with Maz (Jim's other half)

Doors & bar open from 6.00 pm

Members - Free entry (please remember to carry your membership card)
Non-Members €2 (pays for 1 week temporary membership)

Food - Chicken Korma, Beef Madras or Vegetable Curry €10

Write your choices in the Yellow Events Folder (include a contact number too please) or contact Jo on 991 75 117 to book your food at least 3 days prior to the event.

Note that you can only access the folder when the Club is open for an event or activity.

Open Mic Night on November 5th

Open Mic night - An evening of performance, be it music, poetry, story telling or any entertaining skill - a showcase for the talents of local performers. For information on performing contact Mike Dawson on 9654 2485
Doors open at 6.30 pm. Food - filled rolls & chips (€6.50) available shortly thereafter, please book your food using the yellow folder at least 3 days in advance or contact Jo on Tel/WhatsApp 99175117 see poster for more.
